Has anyone been doing both STS and CLX? What are your thoughts?
I haven’t begun the “official” regime of either of these yet, but I have done some of the workouts. Brian, my husband, has a hectic work schedule until the end of the month, so I’m waiting for things to ease off a bit for him before beginning STS – we wants to start the program with me. So, I’ll be even more informed once we start really following the program. But for now, a few thoughts: I love both CLX and STS. I’m totally addicted to Chalene’s Burn It Off! cardio interval workout. It’s short, but totally intense, and I always feel as if I’ve gotten an incredible workout in just a half hour. I’ve been supplementing my weight training with Burn It Off! for the past four days, and it’s already making a huge difference. I’ve also done the the Burn Intervals, and have found the same intensity. I haven’t done any of ChaLEAN Extreme’s weight training workouts yet.
As for STS — OMG! I’ve done Mesocycle #2 discs 13 and 18. Incredible! Cathe’s use of the heavy weights, her drop-down sets, motivational talk about taking it to the next level … I can see that I’m really going to get into this program, and that it’s going to deliver incredible results. I like the way Cathe’s STS is set up, it’s more thorough than ChaLEAN — more focus on the individual body parts, longer concentration (longer workouts), etc. Both programs are incredible, solid, and will deliver definite results … but of the two, I can already tell that I’m going to prefer STS.
What about you?

I am so glad to have found this posting. I started out with the Firm workout DVD’s. I liked them but sometimes I didn’t feel like I was getting a great workout, sometimes just frustrated from the moves. Then I thought I should have more strength training so I purchased the Chalene Extreme. I have not gotten very far into the system, but I am hopeful. The most difficult thing about the first Burn 1 was the last three pushups. I have gone back and forth over the past month about getting the STS. She looks fantastic. I was a little hesitant considering the price and I wasn’t sure if I needed both?? I am glad to hear it’s hard. I want to feel like the time I put into my workouts are worth every minute. I want to walk away fatigued. Thanks for your comparison.
